With the emergence of spring comes the emergence of all the coughs and colds!
Yes, I’m sick again – and honestly, it is frustrating. Being a full time author means that if I get sick, then…nothing gets done.
There’s no one else who can write my books! That means that they’re just waiting there for me, hoping that I feel better again soon so that I can get my characters to their happily ever after.
Being essentially self-employed of course has its benefits: I can take time off when I want, if I need to pop to the Post Office in the middle of the day I can go out, and if I end up travelling for research, I can write from anywhere, as long as there’s a power socket.
But there are downsides.
I am always writing a little ahead for just this sort of situation. I hate the idea of being late on a deadline, and so being slightly further ahead of my deadlines means that I can take a few days off to recuperate.
But what would be better? Not getting sick 😅
If you have any recipes for things I can eat or drink to help with a very bad head cold, please let me know in the comments!
I hope you feel better soon! I know it is hard getting sick more than once. I take vitamin c tablets and the head cold doesn’t last as long. Or drink more orange juice. Take care😉 Lisa
